Loans secured by certificates of deposit or funds held in savings accounts, etc., are priced far below those secured by other forms of collateral. Repayment can stem from other means or directly offset with the pledged funds. These loans are considered low risk. The loan amount is often equivalent to the savings or CD. Thus favorable terms and pricing are readily available. Documentation required is minimal and turnaround is usually within 24 to 48 hours.
