Local bank contributes $75,000 for outfield fencing and scoreboards
MIAMI, FL – April 3, 2006 -- Ocean Bank executives recently announced a $75,000 donation to improve Miami Lakes Park and Royal Oaks Park. The funds will help to purchase outfield fencing for five baseball/softball fields and scoreboards at each of the parks. The presentation was made on March 3 during the opening of the 2006 Miami Lakes Optimist Club Baseball/Softball Season.
“As a true community bank, we are pleased to support Miami Lakes Park and Royal Oaks Park in acquiring their outfield fencing and scoreboards,” said José A. Concepción, Ocean Bank President and CEO. “These baseball, softball, football, and soccer programs provide a great service to the youth in our community, here they are not only developing their athletic skills, but also learning good sportsmanship,” he added.

Concepción with a certificate of appreciation for the bank’s support. The Miami Lakes Optimist Club baseball/softball program comprises nine divisions of over 70 teams for players ranging from 5 to16 years of age.
