MERCY FOUNDATION GALA
OCEAN BANK HOSTS SUCCESSFUL KICK-OFF

MIAMI, FL (September 15, 2006) – A cocktail reception to kick off ACQUA, this year’s Mercy Hospital Foundation Gala was held in the beautiful main lobby of Ocean Bank in Miami on Thursday, September 14th. The evening event also created excitement and buzz for the much celebrated Mercy Gala that will be held on Saturday, October 28th at the InterContinental Miami.

Hosted by Ocean Bank and Mercy Foundation, 2006 ACQUA Gala Chairs Mr. and Mrs. Sergio Pino and Dr. and Mrs. Juan Carlos Fleites, and in honor of Mr. José A. Concepción, Vice Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ocean Bank, the event provided attendees a chance to meet the gala chairs and co-chairs as well as purchase tables and tickets to the upcoming gala.

"We appreciate so much the generosity of Ocean Bank and thank them for helping make this year’s gala kick-off a successful event," said Josie Romano Brown, President of Mercy Foundation.

The Mercy Foundation is the principal fundraising arm of Mercy Hospital. A volunteer board of directors comprised of community leaders and key supporters manages it. In the last five years, the Foundation has been instrumental in the success of many valuable projects and community outreach programs, including the St. John Bosco Clinic, the School of Licensed Practical Nursing, the Kohly Center for Rehabilitation and the Colt Neuro Intensive Care Unit.
