Ocean Bank Receives Outstanding Minority Business of The Year Award

Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Awards Local Bank

Miami, FL - 30 April 2007 – The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce recently presented Ocean Bank with the Outstanding Minority Business of the Year Award during its annual Top 100 Minority Businesses luncheon held at the Radisson Hotel in Miami. Each year, the Chamber recognizes both small and large Florida-based companies for their commitment to diversity, corporate citizenship, employee growth, innovation in the marketplace, innovation in training and development and expansion plans. The Outstanding Minority Business of the Year Award is presented to the organization that best represents all these areas. Ocean Bank president and chief executive officer, José A. Concepción, accepted the award for the bank. Year after year, Ocean Bank has been ranked by the Chamber among the top minority businesses in Florida.

"We are excited to receive the Chamber’s Outstanding Minority Business of the Year Award and to find ourselves in the company of so many other minority-owned businesses that are fueling South Florida’s economy," said Concepción. "This year Ocean Bank will celebrate 25 years of doing business here and it’s rewarding for us to be recognized not only for our financial growth, but for the many areas that truly make Ocean Bank a leader in our marketplace and a great place to work," he added.

Celebrating its 25-year-anniversary in 2007, Ocean Bank is the largest independent commercial bank chartered and headquartered in the state of Florida with more than $5.8 billion in assets and $5.0 billion in deposits. Chartered in 1982, Ocean Bank operates a network of 21 branches throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties. It has received numerous accolades from the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the Beacon Council and the Florida Department of Education for its contributions to South Florida’s communities.
